FAQ

1. How do I choose the right hat size?

To find your correct hat size, simply measure your head following the instructions in our Sizing Guide. Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your head about two finger-widths above your ears, where the hat will sit comfortably.Once you have your measurement in centimeters, choose the hat size that matches it in our store.
• If your measurement falls exactly between sizes (for example, 57.5 cm), we recommend rounding up to the next size — in this case, 58.
• If it’s 56.5 cm, choose 57.
• If it’s exactly 57 cm, choose size 57.
A slightly looser hat is always more comfortable and can be adjusted if needed.

 2. How should I care for my felt hat?

To keep your felt hat looking its best, regular maintenance is key. Use a soft-bristled brush made from natural fibers, such as horsehair, to gently remove dust and dirt. Brush in the direction of the felt’s grain—counterclockwise on the crown and clockwise on the underside of the brim.
For light stains, a damp cloth with a mild soap solution can be used. Gently dab the stained area, then wipe with a clean damp cloth to remove any soap residue. Avoid soaking the hat, as excessive moisture can distort its shape.
When not in use, store your hat upside down on its crown or in a hat box to maintain its shape. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or damp areas, as this can cause fading or mildew.
For stubborn stains or significant cleaning, it’s advisable to consult a professional hat cleaner to ensure your hat is properly cared for.

 3. What should I do if the brim of my felt hat gets misshapen?

If your felt hat’s brim has become misshapen, you can gently restore its shape using steam. Hold the brim over a pot of boiling water or use a garment steamer to allow the steam to soften the felt. Once pliable, carefully reshape the brim with your hands to the desired form. Allow the hat to cool and dry completely while maintaining its shape.
For minor adjustments, placing the hat on a flat surface with the brim properly aligned and leaving it overnight can help it return to its original shape.
Avoid overexposing the hat to steam or moisture, as excessive heat and water can damage the felt. If you’re uncertain or the brim requires significant reshaping, it’s best to consult a professional hat maker or cleaner.

8 . What materials do you use? How do rabbit and beaver felts differ?

We craft our hats using the finest quality felt materials: rabbit fur felt and beaver fur felt. Each offers unique characteristics, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

🐇 Rabbit Fur Felt Rabbit fur felt is a luxurious material known for its softness and versatility. It is lighter in weight and more affordable compared to beaver felt, making it an excellent choice for those seeking quality without a premium price tag. While it doesn’t possess the same level of natural water resistance as beaver felt, it can still withstand light moisture with proper care.

Key Benefits:
• Affordability: More budget-friendly while maintaining high quality.
• Versatility: Available in a wide range of colors and finishes.
• Comfort: Soft to the touch and lightweight.
• Eco-friendly: Utilizes materials that are byproducts of the food industry.

Considerations:
• Water Resistance: Less effective in repelling water compared to beaver felt.
• Durability: May require more frequent reshaping over time.

🦫 Beaver Fur Felt  Beaver fur felt is considered the gold standard in hat-making. Renowned for its exceptional durability and natural water resistance, it is ideal for those seeking a hat that can withstand various weather conditions. The dense, silky fibers provide a luxurious feel and appearance.

Key Benefits:
• Superior Durability: Can last for generations with proper care.
• Natural Water Resistance: Effectively repels moisture, keeping you dry in various conditions. • Luxurious Texture: Soft, smooth, and retains its shape over time.
• Timeless Appeal: Often used in high-end, heirloom-quality hats.

Considerations:
• Cost: Higher price point due to the premium material.
• Weight: Slightly heavier than rabbit fur felt.

Both materials are excellent choices, each offering distinct advantages. Your selection depends on your specific needs, budget, and desired hat characteristics.

9. How long will a felt hat last with proper care?

With proper care, a high-quality felt hat can last for many years, often becoming a cherished item that improves with age. The durability depends on the material, but both rabbit and beaver fur felts are designed to endure, maintaining their shape and elegance with minimal maintenance.

10. What should I do if my hat gets wet in the rain? Ideally, you should avoid wearing your felt hat in rainy weather, as excessive moisture can damage the material and alter its shape.

However, if your hat does get wet, follow these steps to help preserve it:
1. Gently blot the hat with a soft cloth to remove excess water.
2. Reshape the hat carefully and let it dry naturally, away from direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this could cause the felt to shrink or become misshapen.
3. If the hat has become significantly wet, consider steaming it to restore its shape once it’s dry. Always store your hat in a dry, cool place, and consider using a hat protector or waterproof spray to guard against future exposure to moisture.

11. How is the hat packaged for delivery? Will it get damaged during shipping?

We take great care in packing your hat to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Each hat is carefully placed in a large, stylish black magnetic box that provides secure protection during transit. The sturdy box ensures that the hat retains its shape and is shielded from any external pressure or damage. With this level of protection, you can be confident that your hat will arrive safely and without any creases or dents.

13. How can I know if a hat shape will suit me?

Choosing the right hat shape is all about finding a style that complements your face shape and personal style. To help you decide, we recommend considering the following:

1. Face Shape: Different hat shapes work better with specific face shapes. For example, a wide-brimmed hat suits oval or heart-shaped faces, while a fedora looks great on round faces.
